The evolution of a dream…… For many years, a dedicated group of Viet Nam-era aviators have had a dream of preserving the history of Naval Air Station Lemoore’s participation in our nation’s defense and honoring the many POW’s and MIA’s who flew out of Lemoore. In the fall of 2006, the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously agreed that Naval Air Museum Lemoore was an important priority to support and created a museum task force. The Lemoore City Council supported the concept and set aside space in the Cinnamon Municipal Complex pending approval of a Museum business plan, a successful fundraising campaign, and an acquisition plan for historical aircraft and associated memorabilia. March 29, 2008, a kick off event at the Cinnamon Municipal Complex began the fund raising for the Naval Air Museum Lemoore. November 9, 2009, is the Gala Grand Opening of Phase I. Join us in honoring the Navy and Marine Corps personnel who have served at Naval Air Station Lemoore by supporting the museum! The Vision… Transform the interior of the east side of the municipal complex at 711 Cinnamon Drive to the likeness of an aircraft carrier with a flight deck, ready room, berthing rooms, radar room, etc. On the flight deck every aircraft flown at Lemoore Naval Air Station will ultimately be featured. A conference/banquet facility for up to 1,000 guests for military, corporate, and civilian events. A partnership with area schools to provide educational opportunities in science, math and aviation from elementary school to college. Flights simulators, and other interactive displays for all ages A venue for regional competitions for groups such as NJROTC and the Sea Cadets. Displays honoring Naval Air Station Lemoore’s heroes.
